An exciting morning on the Rock and Fox Show today, as we gave away what is easily one of the most valuable prizes in the history of Fun 107.
Ryan Rego, an owner at Isaksen Solar, joined us to deliver the great news. As promised, someone won a complete set of solar panels this morning from Isaksen Solar. Ryan believes that the solar panels will be effective enough to cover 100 percent of the energy that the winner uses.
Included in the prize are the solar panels, the installation, and the full warranty that comes with every other set of solar panels that Isaksen Solar installs. Depending upon the number of panels Sandra’s house can handle, the panels alone could be worth up to $30,000.
Congratulations to Sandra Lawson from Dartmouth. We called Sandra at work this morning at J & J Technologies in Wareham’s Industrial Park to let her know about the great news. Needless to say, she was stunned. Sandra is pictured above in front of her home in Dartmouth.
“I never in a million years thought I’d win this prize,” she said. “I just entered it because I’ve always wanted to have solar, but I didn’t think I could afford it.”
It’s a common theme I’m seeing when I talk to people about solar. So many of my friends ask me about how I like it. I always tell them the same thing: “I don’t miss seeing those huge Eversource bills.”
There are a bunch of different ways to finance getting solar for your home. While not every home is a good match for solar for a number of different reasons (condition of the roof, amount of sunlight in your yard, etc), if you can do it, go for it. Getting solar has already saved us thousands of dollars every year, and we can’t wait until the panels are fully paid off and we are still receiving the free energy they are producing and the incentive checks from the government.
We will check in with Sandra as she goes through the process of getting her brand new solar panels from Isaksen Solar. While the solar panels could be worth up to $30,000, that doesn’t even include the hundreds of dollars she’ll save every month on her energy bills.
Congratulations, Sandra! We couldn’t be happier for you.
